Three schools in southwestern China's Chongqing Municipality had reported 27 confirmed A/H1N1 flu cases by 9:00 a.m. Sunday, the local health authorities said.
No serious or death cases were involved, the emergency office of the municipal health bureau said.
The cases included 15 at the Fengdu campus of Southwest University, nine at Xichan Primary School in Dazu County and three at Xinli Central School of Zhongxian county.
The Xichan Primary School had been closed, Xinli Central Primary School had suspended classes involved and the Fengdu campus of Southwest University had been put under quarantine.
By Sunday noon, 67 people were confirmed to have contracted A/H1N1 flu at four universities in the development zone of Langfang city, northern China's Hebei Province, according to the provincial health department. The total included 36 new cases confirmed between Saturday noon and Sunday noon.
Another 10 cases were reported in Mata middle school in Jingyan County of southwestern Sichuan Province, said an official with the provincial health department on late Sunday.
The 10 patients, all students, had been hospitalized and were in stable condition, the official said.
Another 16 cases were reported on Sunday in Qingdao Technological University in Qingdao City of east Shandong Province, bringing the total number in the university to 42, said an official with the provincial health department.
