Jay-Z is set to score his 11th number one album in the U.S., overtaking Elvis Presley as the solo artist with the most chart-toppers in US chart history.

The rap star's new album Blueprint 3 is on course to top the Billboard 200 chart, taking him past Elvis's record of 10 number ones.

Billboard said the 39-year-old had so far shifted 476,000 copies of the LP.

The Beatles are still the most successful act on the US chart, with 19 number one albums under their belt.

The Fab Four also feature heavily on the US chart this week following the release of their remastered back catalogue.

The reissued albums have shifted a total of 626,000 copies in the US since being released last week.

The best-selling remastered album was 1969's Abbey Road, which sold 89,000 copies.

Meanwhile, Madonna has just notched up her 40th number one single in the US dance charts with Celebration.
