British actress Kate Winslet has earned the title of "best red carpet" dresser on People magazine's 10 best dressed women of 2009, while America's first lady Michelle Obama has bagged the spot for "best accessible glamour."
"She (Kate Winslet) had a big year," said People style editor Clarissa Cruz. "She was all over the award-show circuit. It's hard to get it right every time, and she did."
Winslet, 33, won Best Actress Oscar award in February for her performance as a dour Nazi guard in 'The Reader' and a Golden Globe in January for playing a frustrated 50s housewife in 'Revolutionary Road'.
"I think Kate is very glamorous and appropriate at the same time. She knows what works for her. She doesn't like going for the bubblegum colors; she went for darker, more elegant colors." CNN quotes Cruz as saying.
'Walk the Line' star Reese Witherspoon has also made it to the list for wearing the "best short dresses," and actress Vanessa Hudgens has been named as the "best hippie chic."
